Christmas Frame TV art for a room by the fire: sixteen original Christmas living rooms in 4K, seven and a half minutes each. Two hours with no music and no narration, made to leave running as a screensaver on a Samsung Frame TV or any 4K screen.
These are done in the manner of an old Dutch still life rather than a modern Christmas card: smooth glazed paint, soft velvety shadows, and one warm light falling across the room from the fire and the tree while the corners settle into deep, warm dark. The walls are an old olive-brown panelling, and there are no windows anywhere — every picture is a room shut in for the evening, lit only from inside.
Within that, each one looks at a different corner of the same kind of room: the stockings over a crackling fire, a leather armchair with a tartan blanket, a rocking horse beside the tree, a sled leaning on the hearth, two nutcrackers standing guard either side of the fire, a staircase wound with garland and ribbon.
It is built for the long evenings of December, on a wall in a room that is already warm.
